The Nigeria Football Association and the newly contracted Super Eagles head coach, Shaibu Amodu on Friday said they have settled their past disagreements and would henceforth work together without rancour.
Both the NF A and the coach spoke in Abuja at a ceremony to unveil the coaches recently appointed to tinker the Super Eagles. FA Board Chairman, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, said Nigerians would no longer experience the ugly situation of the past because the football ruling body and the coach have reconciled their differences and ready to take the nation’s football to a higher level. Lulu explained that the association was in some cases the cause of past disagreements between it and the coaches, noting that it was the reason they resolved to re-examine issues and come to terms on how best to work in the new dispensation. "We have gone into all the past relationships, we (NFA) have reconciled with Amodu. We don’t even think that there was a problem between us and the coach, but because of the experience with Berti Vogts’ contract, we had to reconcile. But I want him to tell you whether he is satisfied with that reconciliation", Lulu said. On his part, Amodu said aside from the reconciliation with the NFA, he has learnt from the past experience and is now wiser than he was when he first worked with the association. He said he was ready to work assiduously to raise a Super Eagles team that would meet the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian people. He assured that with the support of his experienced assistants the new Super Eagles technical crew would reposition the Nigerian team and take it to an enviable height. Views: 1659
