Thirty suspected teenagers were repatriated to their states of Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi and Borno by the chief magistrate court Gidan Murtala Kano after they were arrested and brought before the court for theft, criminal conspiracy and house breaking.

Presiding over the judgement in the children remand home Goron Dutse, Chief Magistrate Maryam Sabo Ahmed said the offences contravened sections 97,347 and 288 of the penal code.

During the hearing the judge sentenced the first juvenile, one Ali Baba Guri to 9 months imprisonment, washing of toilets and mandated that he should be repatriated back to his home state Borno.

The magistrate also ordered 4 others to be taken back to their states also and handed over to the ministry of women affairs and youth development due to lack of sufficient evidence by the police.

The judge who also presided over another case involving 12 teenagers accused of theft and other offences, warned parents to guard against sending their children out of their homes in the name of gaining Qur’anic education, as the quest can be achieved under other favourable conditions.
