 FCT Minister An unidentified person shot at the private home of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Dr Aliyu Modibbo, in Abuja last Tuesday, the Police have said.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja yesterday, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. John Haruna, said the incident occurred around 9pm on Tuesday, April 29 at the minister’s residence located at No. 5, Obosi Street, Garki 2. He said an unknown person fired from a long distance into the residence, adding that the police recovered a high caliber bullet which had pierced the roof of a section in the house. The Police Commissioner said no one was injured from the incident. The Police Commissioner said upon receiving the information, he and his colleagues visited the scene of the incident, while the Inspector General of Police visited the house the following day. He said no arrest has been made so far, adding that the Police have commissioned a high powered team to investigate the shooting. When contacted through the telephone, a close aide to Modibbo declined to comment. Views: 1417
