A total of 5000 motorcycles have been distributed to various categories of civil servants in Nasarawa State by the state government.

The 5,000 motorcycles, ZONGCHEN products, which were displayed at the parade ground in Lafia yesterday, were distributed to beneficiaries at the rate of N85,000 payable in 18 months.

In his address at the occasion marking this year’s May Day rally, the state governor, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma, said the government collaborated with the workforce in the procurement and distribution of 13,000 units of motorcycles to workers on hire purchase basis to ease their transportation problem.

He said of this number, 8,000 units have already been distributed, while the remaining units of 5,000 were commissioned and distributed as part of activities marking this year’s May Day celebration.

Governor Doma also disclosed that the state government finalized arrangement for the construction of 500 housing units for civil servants under the home ownership scheme.

In his speech earlier, the state chairman of NLC, Comrade Asoloko Maku, called on the state government to ensure prompt promotion of workers in the state civil service so as to ensure optimum efficiency.
