Photographers in large numbers yesterday made brisk business during the Labour Day celebrations at Eagle Square, Abuja. They set up mobile studios and went around the venue soliciting for customers to take photographs. Our reporter observed photographers crowded at the entrance of the Eagle Square, where they displayed photographs on the ground for the owners to claim. Mohammed Salihu, one of the photographers at the venue, said such occasions are when photographers make profit because most people like taking pictures that will remind them of the event. ‘If you sit down in your studio, there is every possibility that no one will patronise and it is better you goes to events like this to make profit," he said. He however said the response of customers yesterday was not quite impressive as most of the people he approached expressed fears that they might not get their pictures at the end of the event. Loveth Olaitan, one of the participants said it is a tradition for her to take pictures whenever she attends an event of importance. "Thank God for these photographers because I like to take pictures when I attend events like this to keep them for historical purpose," she said. Views: 1344
