Federal Capital Council for Arts and Culture on Friday organised a cultural integration lecture for corps members currently camped at the Government Day Secondary School, Dutse.

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Kuyembo, Assistant Director in the ministry. The lecture was aimed at giving corps members orientation on the geography and culture of the people of the Federal Capital Territory in order to educate them on the host community’s norms and values coupled with her topography.

Speaking during the lecture, Mr.Kuyemo enjoined the corps members to imbibe the spirit of tolerance and dedication in the course of their service to the nation. The lecture was well attended with corps members asking various questions on sundry issues bordering on their new found environment.

At the end of the lecture, the guest speaker told Daily Trust that the lecture is a continuous one which they have been organizing in partnership with the NYSC Directorate for quite sometime now. He said, ‘this orientation lecture is one out of several others we have been organizing for corps members in partnership with NYSC Directorates in Abuja. I am representing my director as the speaker due to her other commitments. He stressed further that, "the lecture is aimed at acquainting corps members with the culture and geography of Abuja in other to sensitise them about their new found host community.

The corps members also asked interesting questions, he concluded.

Some of the corps members who attended the lecture expressed satisfaction with the lecture. One of them, Ebere said, "It was very educative and interesting. It has exposed us to so many things we do not know about Abuja and her people which we are going to stay with for some months now. I am satisfied and thank the organizers for a job well done".
