The NFA expressed delight that Nigerian clubs campaigning in African championships recor-ded resounding victories in the first leg of their respective com-petitions. Enyimba whipped Tunisia's Club Africaine 5-1 in their CAF Champions League tie in Aba and Dolphins overcame Asante Kotoko of Ghana 2-0 in a Confederation Cup clash in Calabar. Ademola Olajire, NFA Media Officer, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview that the performance of both teams were spetacular. ``NFA is happy with the success recorded by the teams in their continental campaigns," he said. Olajire, however, reminded them that they still had the second leg to play and should work towards consolidating their victories. Former Nigerian international, Segun Odegbami also told NAN that the performances of Enyimba and Dolphins signified good development for football in the country. ``I am happy about the victories recorded by the two continental campaigners over their opponents," Odegbami said. He said it was a good reflection of the revival of football in Nigeria from the grassroots, adding that "it is also an indication that NFA has settled down to work". Mike Umeh, former Super Eagles Team Manager descri-bed the results of the two teams as good. ``I am happy about the two results, especially that of Enyimba against Club Africaine of Tunisia," he said. Umeh said it was a rare per-formance against a Tunisian side. He called on both sides to keep the flag flying until they win continental honours for the country this year. Views: 1392
