The camp of the national U-23 side swelled on Monday with the arrival of more invited domestic league players after their respective engagements with their various clubs.

Twenty-two players trained in Abuja on Monday, after the team could only boast of about 10 invited players in camp as at the weekend.

Kaduna United’s central defender Efe Ambrose topped the list of the players that came into camp on Monday, along-side Daddy Bazuaye, Bernard Okorowanta, Monday James, goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi and utility player Yinka Adedeji.

Assistant coach of the team Best Ogedegbe disclosed this much to CS, while adding that the team was still expecting more players.

"We had 22 players in our training today (Monday), and we still expect more before the close of the day," he said.

"Players like Efe Ambrose and Bernard Okorowanta and co. came in today," Ogedegbe added.

The U-23 side are expected to leave Abuja for Owerri on Tuesday where they are expected to play a friendly game against local side on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Olympic Eagles are expected to fly out on May 12 for the 8-Nation Tournament holding from May 14 in Malaysia.
