NITDA vows to enforce Internet standard Print E-mail

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is now poised to ensure that users of Internet in Nigeria comply with global best practices.

The Director - General of the NITDA, Professor Cleopas Angaye disclosed this when the executive of an anti-cyber crime campaign body, Global Network for cyber crime campaign paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Professor Angaye said the Agency would be willing to partner with the private sector so as to ensure cyber security solution of IT infrastructure in the country.

He also disclosed that the system wares in the country were to be authenticated, adding that NITDA pioneered the introduction of cyber crime solution about three years ago.

Professor Angaye revealed that the framework for the legislation on cyber crime was already in the National Assembly and charged the group to sensitize the public on cyber crimes.

Earlier, Dr Chris Uwaije, President of Global Network for Cybersolution had said that Global Network for Cyber solution was an anticrime campaign and cyber security solution organization dedicated to promoting a safe and secure African IT cyber solution.

He added that is an independent and non governmental organization established to create African wide anti – cyber crime campaign and cyber security solution.

Dr. Uwaije said the vision of the organization was to become the first African Independent Cyber Security Technology Research and Solution Empowerment organization.

He said his organization was ready to deliver cyber security technology empowerment via mobilization of indigenous African IT Professionals and experts in diaspora, adding that this would ensure a safe and secure cyberspace for Africa, African Enterprises and Government Institutions.
