The Imo State Police Command yesterday paraded two women who specialise in buying of new born babies of between two and three months old for sale or adoption.

They also paraded a 53 year old fake prophet, Mr. Chukwujiekwu Ihejiamatu, a native of Owunakume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

The two women came to the state purposely for their usual business when the police arrested them following a tip off, while the fake prophet was arrested in his ministry at Njaba where he stayed to offer prayers for people, including police officers for protection.

During a chat with the fake prophet, he said he had been into the business for about 23 years praying for a lot of people including the police for protection.

When asked what brought him to the police, he said the police officer whom he prayed for came and arrested him without a reason.

Meanwhile, some items recovered from his prayer ministry known as Healing Ministry include red cloth, a bell, a wooden cross, incense and protection oil.

Briefing newsmen after parading the suspects at the Police Command Headquarters Owerri, the state Commissioner of Police, Donald Iroham, disclosed that another notorious gang of seven suspects who specialised in vandalising tension cables has also been apprehended by the command following a tiff off.

The seven suspects, including Onyedimma Nwankwo, Emenike Kalu, Sunday Onwuka, Chinedu Ezenwa, Ifeanyi Nwokedi and Emeka Okoli were arrested at Ihitte Junction.

He said that the suspects are already at the custody of the command, and are facing interrogations.

The commissioner disclosed that following incessant armed robbery attacks in the state, the command evolved new crime prevention and control strategy which impact will soon be felt by the people of the state.

He said the measure will in no small measure assist in crime reduction in the state.
