The opposition has failed in Taraba – AC Chairman Print E-mail

Recently, the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) elected its state executive in Taraba state and Alhaji Hamidu Suleiman emerged as chairman. Curiously, the state chairman of the ruling PDP was made the patron. Earlier, the Danbaba Suntai-led state government had donated vehicles, cash and sundry perks to the opposition, prompting accusations that it has sold out. Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, acting chairman of the Action Congress (AC), took a swipe at CNPP, dwelt on his party’s internal crises and gave a sca-thing criticism against the state government here below.

The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) swept most of the state and National Assembly legislative seats as well as the governorship in the 2007 general election in Borno State. The opposition cried foul and alleged several irregularities. Last Saturday, ANPP locked-up almost the entire councils in the local government election and yet again, the allegations have started flying.
